English. Demonstrative genetive pronoun modifying a noun that has a specific referent near the hearer: this.
Example sentence:
Subanen. Ki gembata' kini, ma'niin gabelabel, pu' ndi' na metana'.
English. As for this child, he's like a gyrating insect, because he can't hold still [i.e. doesn't land, come to rest.].
Example sentence:
Subanen. Naa kini lai Ati', melaat nai palasen, ma'niin ita mektubang lekud.
English. It's too bad, Brother-in-Law, that we're turning our backs on each other (after meeting briefly on the trail).
Example sentence:
