suplu'
A fingernail protector.
A thin bamboo tube or cone-shaped piece of silver that is worn on fingers to protect the nails where they are allowed to grow long to enhance beauty. They are worn on the left ring finger and small finger. In the 1970s only older women wore a suplu'. By the end of the century they were no longer seen. The bamboo ones were for every day use while working, the silver ones were worn for festivities.
