Many women like to be massaged often. It is said to make the baby ‘loose’ so it is easily born. When the pregnancy is first noticeable the woman goes to the midwife to be massaged to determine how far along the pregnancy is. Money, rice and eggs are given. Only the first massage is called sulang; the others are just uhut.
