Gift (from the man’s relatives to the newly wed couple for the household).
Formerly the following items usually were given: 1 wooden chest, 1 canopy, 4 pillows, 1 mattress, 1 blanket, 1 sarong, 1 pot, 1 ladle, 1 brass tray, 1 food cover, plates, small plates, glasses and bowls, etc. Nowadays it is usually money. (In 1995 it was about 500 to 1000 pesos.) It is given to them on the day they move from the man’s parents house to the woman’s parents house.
