Yakan - gandang

gandang

A rhythm instrument.

It is played with the brass gongs. It consists of a bamboo pole bātakan or bettung always slashed lengthwise to give a flat sound.

Kulintanganin ga'i hāp pinakale bang ga' niya' gandangne.

The gong set does not sound nice if there is no rhythm instrument.
