-an, -un

To take a risk in doing s.t.; to chance doing s.t.

The -an imp. focuses more on the danger to the person. The -un imp. focuses more on the risk involved in the action.

Magpasāp na ja' kita pa Sabah minsan nungkub pulis na.

Let's risk going to Sabah even though the police are arresting people.

Sāpan ta na pin pilay san magsungkuban na lahat looy.

Let's risk it and go there even though people are being arrested in that place.

Let's risk our lives to fight against those soldiers.

mag-, N-

-un, -an

To guess; to take a chance by guessing at s.t.

Both mag- and N- can be used interchangeably.

Aku ilay bay kapās ni tes looy, tasāp ja' me' ku bay ngansel.

I was able to pass that test by just guessing at the answers.

Take a chance in taking the test even though you don't know very much.
