sambat
A saying or expression. [Reduplicated form is used sometimes to express the fact that the person always uses the saying or idiom, but can be used interchangeably with sambat/sambatan].
Sambat lalla looy, "Bong ya du mangan ya' maglawuk, sibu' du ku ka ya' bay mangan."
Like what that guy says, "When it comes to eating only rice without viand, it is the same as if I didn't eat."

To speak boldly with pride about oneself (esp. about one's courage).
Daa ko magsambatan, maha ko karapatan.
Don't speak boldly with pride about yourself lest you not be able to live up to it.
langkaw sambatan
A (proud) bold statement.
Tud langkaw sambatan na sabap ba'-bā' na ngatu ya minsan sundalu.
His statements are very bold because according to him he will even stand up to soldiers.
