hu'lung2
For a spirit, soul of a dead person (theme mi-) to be in possession of someone (loc ref).
Nihu'lung ay Dukkal nan pinādeng ad Amūyaw.
The place spirit (living) in Mt. Amuyao was in possession of Dukkal.
Possessing spirits include the following: Maggūoy and his companions, souls of the dead, lennāwa, and place spirits, pinādeng. Possession may be temporary, in which a spirit or soul controls a ritualist, mumbā'i, in communicating with the ritualists gathered for a traditional religious ceremony, bā'i. More or less permanent possession is unwanted and results in the victim being mentally deranged, angaw, simpleminded, bongang, dumb, we'we' or epileptic, oldah.
For someone (agent) to invite a spirit (theme i-) to possess someone (loc ref), by calling the spirit during a religious ritual, as described above.
Ihu'lung tu'uh Maggūoy ay Maggang ta hiyay mangibāag hinan nangidat hi dogoh.
Let's invite (the spirit) Maggūoy to possess Maggang so that he will tell what (spirit) gave the sickness.
Prayers inviting spirits are as follows: to Maggūoy and his companions, aglīwat; to spirits of the dead, bolang; to place spirits, amlag.
