bagol
bogol
1
A ritual prayer addressed to a supernatural being.
There are numerous bagol prayers, identified as prayers of people of olden times: bagol w̱lah, bagol Dalimūnu, reported to be early settlers in Cambulo; bagol Bālin, bagol Lemmāban, bagol Kāpay, bagol Bunglūtan, bagol Ummāngal, reported to be one of the early settlers of Batad, coming from Cambulo. This is an archaic term, used in a prayer opener of some ritual prayers:
Bagol hi italūyun di munlalabi.
A ritual prayer to spirits who are companions of those who walk at night.
It apparently is a generic term but occurs only in an opener of some prayers.
bā'i 1a
2
A class of spirit beings.
Whenever a ritual is performed with prayers, bagol, spirits, along with others, are called to participate in the ritual.
