Worm eradication holiday, in which vines with leaves, billīdan, are placed in the water of pond fields or on the surface of the soil in upland fields to kill worms.
Declared at the discretion of the village agricultural head, haldot, and observed immediately following the post transplanting holiday season, ulpi. On this day, no one may work in pond or upland fields or pass through them. The village agricultural leader, on this day, performs religious rituals in his ritual rice granary, panu'būngan, including telba prayers to rice-guarding spirits, tānig 2. He is confined to his ritual granary for several days during which he is severely restricted in what he may eat.
