gegded
noun
English. A post in the center of a house, extending from the ground up only to the floor and to support an unusually wide main floor
area; the hole in the middle of a beklug platform.
Example sentence:
Subanen. Sa' duun ig beklug, telu'en nug belian pekenuun na su gegdedan. Ma'ananen, mekanu tu titenga' beklug, pu' ki linesutan di peglau kia, iini gegded.
English. When a beklug ceremony is held, the shaman says to have a sacrifice at the center post. It means to sacrifice in the middle of the beklug platform floor, because the hole in the middle becomes the gegded.
