It is considered a staple not a vegetable. It is similar to ubi. The tubers are longish like carrots and sweetish like sweet potatoes. A big one would be about like a fist. The inside is white. One tuber is planted and makes many new ones. The vines need a support. The leaves are similar to sweet potato leaves. When the plant gets dry the tubers are ready to eat. They are usually eaten boiled.
