A bamboo section (used as a ‘bell’ for summoning people).
It consists of one section of large bamboo, split on one side. It is suspended and hit with a stick. It is especially used during the month of fasting to wake up people early in the morning. It is hit fast several times as a wake-up call, then the hour is struck.
Eddo'ku bātakan inin hinangku tegutuk.
I will get this bamboo for making a bell.
