Implement for making rice cakes called jā.
The implement consists of a smooth coconut shell with very small holes at the bottom and a long handle attached to it. The dough is filled into it and drips through the holes into hot oil. To achieve an even flow of the dough the handle is hit with a stick making a ‘tag-tag-tag’ sound.
Magjā ne kite, papīhun ne addunin dem tagtagan.
Let us make rice cakes now; put the dough into the coconut shell implement.
