sūd
Comb or reed (part of a weaving loom).
A device on a loom resembling a comb. It is used to space warp yarns evenly. On the Yakan weaving loom it consists of many very thin strips of bamboo bātakan approx. 10 cm in length that are tied between two upper and two lower horizontal bars which then are covered with a length of the smooth stem of a rattan leaf. The threads of the warp are inserted in the spaces between these thin strips.
Gey tasuwa'anku tennunkun, ga' niya' sūdku.
I cannot insert my weaving; I have no comb.
