Money or something else is given if a person was treated with white magic/incantations (tawal or tambal diyata'). The one treating will say what should be given. If no such payment is given the sickness may start to afflict the one who treated it.
The sickness may return to the one treating us if we do not give anything.
I will give something if somebody has practiced white magic for me.
I was given something in appreciation by him because I treated him with incantations.
You should give something in payment when someone got medicine for you.
