A person with this characteristic wants to have things done in very specific ways. At a wedding all customs have to be observed, even if unimportant. In food one wants all sorts of specific spices. A cake has to be decorated etc.

When I go shopping even if my blouse is torn I am not particular (about my appearance).

When you make a cake you are willing to be particular.
