Staple food (made of root crops or plantains).
Camote, varieties of cassava, taro and cooking bananas. (Rice is not included.) All of these can be used as a viand as well as a staple. Because rice is the most expensive staple often other staples are cooked as well. All these are called ligeteman.
Each time we eat we have rootcrops.
