kamansi
Breadfruit tree.
Artocarpus camansi
The fruit is similar to marang, the leaves are also similar to marang but lobed. The seeds are hard on the outside. After cooking, their hard skins can be removed and the inside eaten as a staple food (formerly), or like nuts (now). When still unripe the fruit can be peeled and then cooked as a vegetable, usually in coconut milk.
Hāp sinayul buwa' kamansihin amban nangka'.
The fruit of the breadfruit tree is better as a vegetable than jackfruit.
