assalamu alayikum
‘Peace be with you.’ (A formula for greeting. The response is Alaikum wassalam.)
It is said when approaching a house as well as when meeting someone on the road. Formerly only the very devout and people well educated in Islamic matters used it. Now it is a common greeting.

Bang kite ngadji' bissā Arab bu pa'asek ne kite dem madrasa subey kite magassalamu alayikum si guruten.
When we study Arabic and we enter the Qur’an school we should greet our teacher with assalamu alaikum.
