To hack or chop s.t. or s.o. (with a machete, ax, etc.).
The -an suffix is used in three ways. 1)Beneficiary, 2)When hacking/chopping off part of s.t. that is extending out. 3)When focusing on the instrument because you want to leave it stuck in whatever it is hacked into.
