A personal name marker used to indicate that the word that follows is a person's name. Also occurs before five kinship nouns when referring to one's relative (see examples).
It also occurs with five kinship nouns and carries the meaning of "my" mother, father, grandparent, aunt or uncle. Sometimes when using the personal name particle "si" before names that begin with certain letters a form of contraction takes place: si Pompong=Spompong, si Tita=Stita, si Kaling=Skaling, si Mannang=Hmannang, si Lucas=Hlucas, si Norma=Hnorma, si Ingngas=Singngas, si Olot=Solot, si Bani=Bbani, si Dan=Ddan, and si Saggi=Ssaggi.
