One who lives temporarily or more or less permanently without a spouse.
Refers to one who is divorced, whose spouse has died, who is separated from his or her spouse or who lives alone as a single person. Refers to one who lives with or without his or her children. umu'ūtun, One who lives more or less permanently alone. For one whose spouse has died, this term is used, following the completion of about a year's mourning period, bālu 2.

Mun'umu'ūtun han lalā'i ti natoy han ihāwana.
The man will live permanently without a spouse because his wife died.
