A stacked-rice blessing ritual, performed by someone with one or more pond fields during the harvest-completion holiday, tūngaw di īwang.
Following the erection of trail-guarding stick persons, dalongdong, along the main trails entering the village, a chicken, toldag 2, is sacrificed and ritual prayers are recited to bless the newly-harvested rice, stacked either in the attic of a house, palan di baluy, or in a rice granary, ālang, so that it will not be quickly consumed and will not need to be used for sickness rituals. At this time, an appeal is made to spirits to agree to the lifting of taboos, panīaw, prohibiting the eating of vegetables, halawhaw, and edible aquatic invertebrates, gīnga.
