A stone-wall crown; the upper portion of the wall, constructed of stones smaller than those used in the main body.
Refers especially to the bund stones of a pond field, beginning horizontally in line with the basin floor, pānad, and extending about 40 - 60 cm. to the top of the wall. On the interior of the crown is tamped the upper portion of the interior hard-packed earth surface, tapig, with a coating of mud, pi'pi' over it.
