For someone (agent -um-; s agent maN-) to cut off the head (theme) from an animal, chicken or person (loc ref -an) with a bolo, hanggap, or head axe, gaman (inst i-, paN-).
mamūtul
The head of a person was traditionally cut off, hewat, when an enemy was waylaid and killed, ngāyaw, or during warfare, būhul. These, along with cut-off arms and legs, pūtel, were taken home and a ceremony involving them, ha'dol, was performed. The head of an animal or chicken is cut off in cutting into large pieces, bu'li, when butchering.
