First-fruits rice bundles; four in number, placed at the four corners of a reliquary for blessing rituals, pun'amhan, as an offering to spirits to which prayers are made.
These are the first four bundles harvested by a family at harvest time, īwang, from their ritual field, puntonā'an. During harvest prayers, they are displayed as indicted above. Following harvest, they are kept in the same position with the reliquary, either in the attic where grain is stored or with the grain in a granary. The following harvest, the bundles are pounded, the grain cooked and officiating ritualists, mumbā'i, eat it.
