mapto'
napto'
ma-/na-
1
Able to be determined, i.e., known by being discovered or found out.
Umūya' hi mā'et an me'mēteng ta mapto' di atonda.
I will go tomorrow to join in the meeting so that (it) can be determined what they will do.
Forms corresponding to non-past, mapto' and past, napto' occur. However, tense is not indicated; these are variants of a derived form. A negative sentence construction is a common occurrence, mi'id mapto':
Mi'id mapto' hidin dālan an nalīwa' di nange'wanmih hopapna.
(It) cannot be determined regarding that trail in that I forgot where we passed before, (i.e., I cannot find that trail).
This negative sentence construction is in contrast with an idiom of the same form described under sense 2.

mi'id napto'.
Perhaps.
An idiom occurring as a sentence introducer, followed by ya and a sentence.
Mi'id mapto' ya umālia' hi mā'et hi un madadawoh.
Perhaps I will come tomorrow if it is convenient.
Mi'id mapto' also occurs as a sentence (not an idiom), as described in sense 1.
