A rain hat.
A broad hat used for protection from the sun or rain. Up to 65 cm. in diameter, with a lip, bāli. Made of a double layer of woven bamboo, ānoh, with a zigzag pattern, lāga 2, with banana-leaf material, dāun, between. It has a lip and foot, bāli, tied with rattan, uway. Oozing sap, lotan di būlon, of the būlon tree is painted on the exterior surface of the hat to waterproof it, see lota. A headband, ha'ūlub, is fastened to the interior of the hat.
