iyū'an

A relatively large light colored honey bee.
This variety builds their hive hanging from the branch of a tree. It is oblong shaped, like a large platter, about 4 cm. thick, with cells on either side, and made of wax, līlin. Adult bees cluster on the outside. Larva, batol, are boiled and eaten as a side dish. Wax, is used in lubricating warp threads, inobol, in weaving, and in making jewelry molds, hibug 2.

Honey from a hive of iyū'an bees.
Cooked sweet potatoes, lapnay, are dipped in honey and eaten as a delicacy; it is added to rice beer, bayah, in making sweet wine, hubul; it is also used as a topical medicine for chicken pox, balattung.
