This conjunction has two functions: 1) It marks a special kind of topic which expresses a situation described by the comment. The situation may be actual (glossed `that'), or unverified (glossed `if'). 2) Indicates that the state or action of the first sentence is contingent upon the validity of the state or action expressed in the second sentence.
Malubu nan binabāih un adi umudan.
The women will go to work if it does not rain.
