This season occurs during the month It'itīna, near the end of June, immediately following the main crop harvest, and is in preparation for planting second crop rice, lawang 3b.

Either rice seeds are stripped from the panicles, billungan, and planted, or the panicles with seeds are planted. Seeds are lightly covered, up to 1 cm., with fine dirt for germination.
