A near-kin meat share, given by one butchering a pig to a near relative.
One or sometimes two rump portions of a pig, ulpu, are equally divided between near relatives of the husband and those of the wife. This includes households of one's siblings, first, second and sometimes third cousins, parents, grandparents, and children, along with their siblings, first, second and sometimes third cousins. Reciprocal distribution is by mutual agreement of the parties involved. Relatives included in a single distribution group are traditionally ineligible for marrying within that group.
