A tamping pole for tamping soil; a small pestle used by people with teeth inadequate for chewing.
A tamping pole is about one meter long. It is about 16 cm. in diameter at the pounding end and 5 cm. at the holding end. A small pestle is typically a 15 cm. nail, flattened and flared at the pounding end to fit into a hand-held mortar, pumbayūan.
