Simunul
the name of a flat island a few miles east of Bongao Island, Tawi-Tawi.
The population is estimated at 50,000. Simunul Sama dialect is spoken there. Simunul Island has a body of fresh water in its
center. Tubig Indangan, the largest village on Simunul, has the oldest mosque in the Philippines.
