Sambuwangan
Zamboanga City.
"Zambo", for short, has a mixed population of about one-half million people including those of Chinese, Indian, and Filipino
descent. Of the population, some are native to Zamboanga and its peninsula, and others come from more northerly places on
Mindanao Island and other islands of the Philippines. Still others are from the south, namely, the Samal, Sinama, Tausug,
and Yakan peoples. Chabacano is the main language of the city. Zamboanga is located about two hundred forty miles northeast
of Sibutuh Island. It is on the south-west tip of Mindanao Island, and is the largest city in the Southern Philippines. It
is also called the "City of Flowers".
