‘utensil’ large glazed earthenware jar with a wide mouth and no neck.
A kaang is used for functional and decorative purposes. It is said that, in China, where they were made, the jars were filled with
century eggs, and transported, two jars at a time, by donkeys. The heavy jars and their contents were traded in various places,
including the island of Borneo, and from Borneo came to the islands of the Sulu Sea. The older jars, now rare, have a green
glaze on the inside, and a carved dragon on the outside.
