a kindness; a voluntary good deed without expectation of reward.
Compare: Sanskrit buddhi , "intelligence", "reason", "judgment"; Malaysian budiman , "clever", "discrete". It is interesting to note that in the past, two titles were used interchangeably in Sulu: Sanskrit
buddhi , and Arabic halim , "kind", "gentle". Perhaps the apparent Sanskrit adoption came to have the meaning of the Arabic title.
Ya entomun buddi-sigeya.
That which [you] must remember [is] their kindness.
