‘fruit’ grape
+family Vitis .
Grapes are not native to the tropical islands of Sulu, but are sometimes available in the supermarkets of Philippine cities. They are of interest to Samals because they are grown in the Holy Land and mentioned in various scriptures. A grape is small, smooth-skinned fruit about the size of a marble, growing in clusters on a woody vine. Grapes are usually eaten raw, or dried to make raisins, or used to make grape juice or wine.
