Ridge support (in roof construction).
Formerly in houses with a cogon grass roof two braces were placed from the roof plate to the ridge. They were placed at an angle on the roof plate at both gables meeting the ridge pole at approximately 2 m apart.
This wood will be made into the ridge support so that the ridge won’t easily break.
