suki'2
N-, mag-
To play a certain board game (similar to checkers).
This game is played only after a death has occurred. It is played for 100 days until the final ceremony. It consists of a board with lines drawn to make squares and four lines from the four corners towards the middle. In the center a square is left without diagonals. ‘Men’ are moved along the lines. The ‘men’ are usually coins nowadays. Formerly small cowry shells, seeds of different colors, broken shards or glass were used. It is played by two people. Both play both kinds of ‘men’. The ‘white’ ones have double value of the ‘black’ ones. The number of ‘men’ is equal. The objective is to gain as many ‘men’ as possible. It seems in some ways similar to the game checkers (dama).
