To treat (threads before using them in weaving).
In old times the thread, especially silk, that was going to be used in weaving was treated with a soupy, overcooked rice mixture in order to make the threads more durable (i.e. prevent the threads from fraying or breaking), to stiffen them. It was brushed on with a piece of coconut husk.
Magsikat me' a'a metu'uhin bang siye tennun.
The people of old treated (the threads) when they wove.
Bakas ku nikat tennunku ensini'.
I treated my weaving (the threads) earlier.
Sikatun hilunu iyan.
Treat that thread of yours.
