mayi'
May it come to pass. Good if it were so. If only....
It is only used in answer to s.o. else’s remark, and always together with bang and si'.
Bakas ku magpayam, pina'in we' dayahan ko' ku pesōng-sōng. Pa'inku: “bang si' mayi'”.
I went to have my fortune told; it was said that I would soon become rich. I said: “good if it were so”.
Bang mayi' si' iye tepī.
If only he could go.
Bang mayi' si' ulan pesōng-sōng.
Good if it would rain later on.
