A basket for carrying or storing rice, made of rattan.
Formerly it was also used for measuring rice. A laga' is without handle and has a smallish opening. There are various sizes, from one holding 5 gantas up to one holding about 5 five-gallon cans. The smaller ones are used for carrying rice from the field to the house. The bigger ones are used just for storage.
I have one laga'-basket full of rice.
