kubal1
The stem of a rattan leaf.
It has small thorns. The thorns are scraped off and the resulting stick is often used to be put into the heddle of the weaving loom. It is also used to cover the comb of the weaving loom on top and bottom. For this purpose, a length of it is split on one side and some of the inside is taken out. Then it is placed over the sticks that form the comb and is tied onto them.
Bang ku magtennun ngeddo' ku kubal hinangku bubung sūdku.
When I weave I fetch rattan leaf stems to make the ridge cover of my comb.
