To slide (back and forth or up and down).
Said of s.t. that surrounds the object it is sliding on like a bracelet on someone’s arm, or a rope on a post).
If the bracelet is big it always slides back and forth.
To slip or strip s.t. off s.t. else (like rope off a post); move fingers back and forth (on an object, like playing with a pencil, or removing dough from a ladle).
When you make dough and the spoon is covered with it, strip it off (with the fingers).
