Cotton.
Gossypium brasiliense or Cumingia philippinensis
The tree is smallish, approx. 3 m high, more a shrub, white flowers, seeds are longish, approx. 2-3 cm long. When they pop open, a white, fluffy, fibrous substance appears.
Cotton is whiter than kapok.
