Meaning of Figure Come and eat with us; we have meat to eat!
Usage This is simply an invitation to neighbors to join in when you are having meat. If you say, “There is meat”, the guests may be disappointed if there’s just a little bit of meat. You may say this if you had butchered a chicken, pig, deer, dog or wild pig. The broth is delicious but there is just a little meat.
