Dried betel nut bwa is split in half and the nut is chewed; young betel nut posit can also be chewed. A dash of lime amed from burning down coral clam mellet is rolled in a piece of bark or its young leaf samoh and is chewed along with the betel nut. A chunk of dried tobacco bāko rolled into a rope is bitten off and may also be chewed along with the nut.
