For two (agent muɴ-) to engage in serious banter with each other (loc ref).
Mun'u'uhpi: focus is on three or more who engage in banter.
Serious banter typically begins with two contestants with others sometimes joining in to help one of the contestants. The subject is typically about one's adherence to the moral and ethical standards of the community, as care for parents and family, fighting between husband and wife, adultery, greed etc. It often takes the form of casual chanting, appoh, in which one contestant chants a statement, followed by a group chorus and a reply by the opponent, and so forth. Bantering is engaged in when there is a liberal supply of rice beer during traditional religious ceremonies, bā'i, especially during the post-transplanting holiday season, ulpi, or following a work bee, dangah. It often begins as jocular banter, hannūlan.
